How will the Broad Marsh life size bronze statue 'Standing in This Place' challenge us and reveal something of Nottingham's hidden history?
A life size bronze statue representing a white mill worker /lace maker and a black enslaved woman uprooted to the Americas is to be placed in the Green Heart of the new Broad Marsh redevelopment in Nottingham.
This arts and heritage project has been co-created by sculptor Rachel Carter in response to the work of the Legacy Makers Group, and others, by Bright Ideas Nottingham.
Rachel and members of the Legacy Makers Group will describe what inspired the sculpture, how it has been developed, and the national significance of this important piece of civic art.
